Hi! I’m Michaela.
I am an organizer, coach, and strategist with 15 years of experience in the social change sector. I spent the first decade of my career putting everything I had into work, without creating space for joy in my life. When burnout pushed me to the point of crisis, I knew I needed to reevaluate my approach. I got my start in coaching because I saw the difference it was making for my life and contributions to social change work.
My purpose: to support changemakers to craft a path that allows them to put their passion and skills towards what’s meaningful to them. I love to support leaders to root into their innate leadership and integrity so that they can support people and teams to thrive with focus and ease.
I have spent the last decade working inside non-profit organizations as a leader, people and strategic operations specialist, trainer, and facilitator. I’ve led teams through organizational culture shift initiatives and strategic planning processes, ensuring changes are explicit, equitable, and embedded into operations.
I approach all my work with a focus on connection and curiosity and I balance my commitment to the big picture with a passion for the details. I bring a dry sense of humor, commitment to justice and equity, and a fierce belief in the possibility of a better world. I am trained by the Academy for Coaching Excellence and a graduate of Green Corps, the field school for environmental organizing.
My approach to leading groups and social change is greatly influenced byEmergent Strategy by adrienne maree brown. In my free time, I enjoy hiking with my family, building community in my neighborhood, reading, collaging, and playing the ukelele.
